18/9   PETER JEZEWSKI AND THE BOP MACHINE
Brylcréme, 50-60 talsmusiken från The Boppers stora hits. Peter Jezewski, sångare och basist i The Boppers under deras storhetstid, framför med The Bop Machine bl.a. låtarna “Kissing in the Moonlight”, “Jeanies coming back”, “Goodnight Sweetheart, “Who Put The Bomp” m.fl. 2 miljoner skivor sålda med åtskilda guld och platina över Europa rätt in på scenen.

Sunday grease! This Sunday, Close Up Sundays is jammed with the music from the 50s and 60s as Peter Jezewski, lead singer and bass player in The Boppers during their golden years, will backed by The Bop Machine in songs like “Kissing in the Moonlight”, “Jeanie’s Coming Back”, “Goodnight Sweetheart, “Who Put the Bomp”, etc. The band sold more than 2 million records in Europe, including several gold and platinum records.

25/9   MAGNUS BÄCKLUND & THUNDERBALLS
Magnus har gästat Rhapsody In Rock flertal gånger bl.a i Kina. Från Fame Factory till vinst i Schlagerfestivalen med Jessika Andersson.
Nu är han vår enda “Bruce Dickinson” i Sverige som kör eget plan till gigen. På scen blir det material allt ifrån Tom Jones, Kiss, Earth Wind & Fire. Party med magisk röst och hårt svängande band med Stefan Bäcklund som kapellmästare.

Magnus has appeared in Rhapsody in Rock on a number of occasions, e.g. in China. Went on from the Fame Factory school to represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest along with Jessica Andersson. These days, Magnus is the only Swedish “Bruce Dickinson” – he steers a private jet to his gigs. On Close Up Sundays this time, you will enjoy material from Tom Jones, Kiss and Earth, Wind & Fire and much more. 2/10  WADENIUS & WELLS
För första gången möts gitarrlegenden Georg Jojje” Wadenius och Robert Wells på scenen.
Tillsammans med Rhapsody Lounge Orchestra & Wells gör dom en exklusiv spelning på Close Up Sundays. Wadenius är en av Sveriges mest välrenommerade musikanter. Medlem i Blood, Sweat & Tears och TV bandet Saturday Night Live i NY. Turnéer och skivinspelningar med Simon & Garfunkel, Aretha Franklin och Donald Fagen m.fl.

At last they meet on stage, guitar legend, Georg Jojje” Wadenius and Robert Wells. Along with the Rhapsody Lounge Orchestra, they invite you to an exclusive show at Close Up Sundays. Having been a member of Blood, Sweat and Tears and the Saturday Night Live Orchestra in New York, Wadenius is one of Sweden’s best known international musicians of all time. Toured and recorded with Simon & Garfunkel, Aretha Franklin, and Donald Fagen amongst others.

På allmän bergäran! Jump4Joy deklarerar stolt att deras musik är ”100 procent gitarrfri”. De har bevisat att man inte behöver gitarrer för att spela fantastisk blues och R&B. Med rullande pianoslingor och frenetiska blås-solon för musiken tankarna till legendariske New Orleans-legender som Professor Longhair och Dr John och den böljande rock’n’ roll som gjorde Little Richard känd. Det är svårt att hålla fötterna stilla när man fångas in av Jump4Joys smittande rytmer.

Ryan Roxie (född i Sacramento, CA) är en amerikansk gitarrist och singer/songwriter bosatt i Stockholm. Han har grundat bandet Roxie77 och förmodligen mest känd för sitt gitarrspelande med Alice Cooper, Slash, Casablanca och många fler. Förutom låtskrivande och skivinspelningar leder han ”The Big Rock Show with Ryan Roxie”. Till CLOSE UP SUNDAYS tar han med egna bandet Roxie77.

Ryan Roxie (born in Sacramento, CA) is an American guitarist and singer/songwriter living in Stockholm, Sweden. He is the founding member of Roxie77 and most well known for his guitar work with Alice Cooper, Slash, Casablanca, plus many more. Along with his writing, recording, and touring schedule, he currently hosts ’The Big Rock Show with Ryan Roxie’. Ran will be on stage at CLOSE UP SUNDAYS together with his band Roxie77.

23/10 COUNTRY ROX
Svenska mästarna COUNTRY ROX med Monica Silverstrand vann Country-SM i oktober 2010 och är alltså regerande svenska mästare i countrymusik. Tjejbandet vann även publikens pris och smittar av sig med goda vibbar bara genom att våga ha roligt och ta plats på scen, ta in publiken, och leverera riktigt kaxigt rockig musik med country touch. Här används inga fioler eller steel guitars som inom traditionell country, utan Country Rox består av rock’n’roll-musikanter som spelar rock’n’roll-instrument- Men låtarna med sina genomtänkta texter och plats för många stämmor doftar mer country än rock. Bandet blandar kanonbra eget originalmaterial med covers som de själva ”countryfierat”.

Swedish Country Music Champions, COUNTRY ROX with Monica Silverstrand, won their title in October of 2010 and has toured three countries since then. The all female hardcore country rock band also won the Audience Award, and continue to spread their good vibes by always going all-in, having fun, sharing their combined 150 years of stage experience while delivering kick-ass rock music with a country touch. Normally, no fiddles or steel guitars are used like in traditional country. Instead, Country Rox consists of six rock’n’roll musicians playing rock’n’roll instruments, although the songs with their fundamental content and loads of harmonies speak of country rather than rock music. Great original material is mixed with countrified covers.

30/10 LASSE LINDBOM & THE HUSBANDS
I år är det exakt 25 år sedan Lasse Lindbom bildade det numera legendariska bandet The HUSBANDS. Förutom Lasse består bandet idag av Patrik Lundström, sång och gitarr, Mats Gaffa Karlsson, sång och keyboards, och bakom trummorna hittar vi Pelle Alsing (f.n. på världsturné med Roxette). Rutin, spelglädje och det faktum att bandet har tre sångare gör att en kväll med Husbands alltid är spännande och aldrig den andra lik. Repertoaren sträcker sig från 60-tal till nutid, och en och annan egen hit dyker upp med jämna mellanrum.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Lasse Lindbom’s legendary band, The HUSBANDS. In addition to Lasse, the band currently consists of Patrik Lundström, vocals and guitar, Mats Gaffa Karlsson, vocals and keyboards, and behind the drums we will find Pelle Alsing (currently on world tour with Roxette). Their experience, joy of playing, and the fact that this band has three singers always makes a night with The Husbands exciting and special. Their repertoire includes music all the way from the 1960’s up to present time, and one or two hits of their own may very well pop up every now and then.

6/11 STATUS QUIZ & FAN HELLER (2 band 1 scen – Hyllning till stjärnorna, 2 bands 1 stage – A tribute to the stars)

STATUS QUIZ:
En hyllning till Status Quo vars karriär bjuder på häpnadsväckande fakta. Bandet hade mer än 60 hitsinglar i Storbritannien under fyra årtionden och de har sålt mer än 120 miljoner album sedan 1968. Det svenska tributebandet STATUS QUIZ har nästan 30 års erfarenhet av att uppträda med QUO’s numera klassiska rocklåtar. De är mästare på att återskapa soundet och energin från QUO’s konserter.

A tribute to Status Quo. Status Quo’s amazing career includes more than 60 hit singles in the UK since the 1970’s, and the band has sold a staggering 120 million albums since 1968. Swedish tribute band, STATUS QUIZ, has been performing QUO’s classic rock numbers for almost 30 years. Like no other band, they master the recreation of the energy and sound from QUO’s concerts.

13/11 BILL ÖHRSTRÖM ALL STAR BAND
På allmän bergäran! En av våra mest välrenommerade blues- och soulsångare.
1) Bildade legendariska ’Slim’s Blues Gang’ 1959.
2) Förband till Stones ’65 på Kgl Tennishallen.
3) Kallades till London när ett okänt ’The Who’ sökte sångare och var med hemma hos Pete Townsend och gjorde demos till ’My Generation’, ’Circles’, ’The Kids are All Right’.
4) I San Francisco hela våren ’67, vilket resulterade i Club Filips med gäster som Jimi Hendrix, Mothers of Invention, Jefferson Airplane…

On demand! Bill Öhrström is one of Sweden’s most wellreputed blues- and soul-singers.
1) He formed the legendary band ”Slim’s Blues Gang” in 1959.
2) Was the opening act at ”The Rolling Stones” concert at Kungliga Tennishallen in Stockholm in 1965. He has also had a successful career as a producer since the 60’s and produced such diverse artists and groups as Arne Qvick (”Rosen”), ”Lollipops,” ”Hansson & Karlsson,” Lisa Ekdahl and Thorsten Flinck.

20 / 11 JANNE ÅSTRÖM & MEDBORGARNA
Janne Åström är en av Sveriges mesta allround-sångare, med en klassisk operautbildning i bagaget. Janne har stått på landets flesta musikalscener och bland annat medverkat i Les Miserables, Little Shop of Horrors och Kristina från Duvemåla, men också i R.E.A. på Börsen under många år. Den senaste huvudrollen var i Spelman på taket och Janne är en ofta förekommande gäst på Rhapsody In Rock. Svante Drake har ett trumset i munnen! Conny Bloom från Electric Boys är virtuos på sin gitarr. Benneth Fagerlund är keyboardist och Peder af Ugglas gitarrist.

With a classic opera education on his CV, Janne Åström is one of Sweden’s most loved all-round singers. He has performed on most musical theatre stages throughout the country, including Les Miserables, Little Shop of Horrors and Kristina from Duvemåla, but he has also been part of the successful R.E.A. team at Börsen for several years. His latest main character was that of Fiddler on the Roof, and Janne is a regular guest in the Rhapsody In Rock concerts. Svante Drake fits a full drum set in his mouth! Conny Bloom from Electric Boys is a true guitar virtuoso. Benneth Fagerlund is the great keyboard player and Peder af Ugglas plays the guitar.

27/11 SVEN ZETTERBERG MED THE BEAT FROM PALOOKAVILLE
Sven Zetterberg är inte bara vår kanske största svenska blues- och soulröst någonsin. Han är också en av Europas mest trovärdiga uttolkare av svart musiktradition från den amerikanska södern. Redan 1972 startade Sven det legendariska bandet Telge Blues. Men mest känd är han nog ändå som frontfigur och konstnärlig ledare för Chicago Express. 1989 tilldelades Sven Zetterberg det prestigefulla Cornelis Vreeswijk-stipendiet för att han ”inte bara förvaltat bluesens klassiska arv utan också tillfört en personlig nerv och ton”. De två första soloalbumen, ”Blues from within” och ”Let me get over it”, blev båda Grammisnominerade.

Sven Zetterberg is perhaps our greatest Swedish blues and soul voice ever. But he is also one of the most credited interpreters of the black music tradition from the American South. As early as 1972, Sven founded legendary band, Telge Blues. Still, he is probably most known in his role of front man and creative director for Chicago Express. In 1989, Sven Zetterberg was awarded with the prestigious Cornelis Vreeswijk scholarship because he ”not only managed the classical heritage of blues, but also added to it a personal nerve and tone.”
Sven’s first two solo albums, ”Blues From Within” and ”Let me get over it”, were both nominated for a Grammy.
